Many women, and even some men, appreciate making their eye color pop using different makeup techniques and colors. Green eyes are beautiful and deserve to be enhanced; sometimes, though, depending on your complexion or choice of makeup, the particular beauty of your green eyes can be hard to notice. In this article, you'll find a few ways to make the most of your natural green eyes using makeup. Green is the least common eye color and as in the case of blue eyes, their color does not result simply from the pigmentation of the iris. Rather, their appearance is caused by the combination of an amber or light brown pigmentation of the stroma, given by a low or moderate concentration of melanin, with the blue tone imparted by the Rayleigh scattering of the reflected light. They probably result from the interaction of multiple variants within the OCA2 and other genes. They were present in south Siberia during the Bronze Age. They are most common in Northern and Central Europe. They can also be found in Southern Europe parts of South Asia (Afghanistan, northern Pakistan, northwestern India). In Iceland, 89% of women and 87% of men have either blue or green eye color. A study of Icelandic and Dutch adults found green eyes to be much more prevalent in women than in men. Among European Americans, green eyes are most common among those of recent Celtic and Germanic ancestry, about 16%.They are being possessed by only about 2% of the world population. They are most commonly found in people with roots from Northern Europe and Nordic countries like Finland, Norway, or Iceland, The reason these people are those that most commonly have this rare eye color is because they appear to be genetically predisposed to have a tendency for producing less melanin. They posses low to moderate amounts of melanin (which is what makes brown - brown) and probably represent the interaction of multiple mutations in the OCA2 gene and others. Recently the Mendelian recessive trait has been disproved. What we were taught in school about this color before 2007 was not correct. The Mendelian theory stated brown eye color was dominant over blue, so a person with two brown genes or a brown and a blue gene would have brown, and only two blue genes with no brown gene could make blue. The study disproving the Mendelian theory was published in the American Journal of Human Genetics, and was supported with grants from Australia's National Health and Medical Research Council and the United States of America's National Cancer Institute.Mutations in genes can cause one to have the color they have, these mutations could be beneficial or non beneficial. Environmental factors, such as radiation, viruses, and chemicals can switch eye color genes on or off. This could happen at any time before your birth, in your father or mother (even during pregnancy) and also to older generations in your family. This is an area that needs further research as there are so many possibilities and eye color is not closely tracked. We know some chemicals, such as the glaucoma medication, bimatoprost can change light eyes to dark, This chemical is used in several lash lengthening cosmetic that were introduced a few years back and is now only available through prescription. Some users reported their eyes had darkened and filed lawsuits against the makers of the product.
